Grants to Support Knowledge Exchange - Camilla Dondi
Camilla Dondi, 2025 Grant to Support Knowledge Exchange recipient, shares her experience.
Thanks to the support of the IOM3 Grants to Support Knowledge, I was able to attend the 2025 European Society for Biomaterials Conference in Turin, Italy. This opportunity allowed me to present my PhD research on peptide-based biomaterials for 3D cell models.
The conference provided a dynamic platform for the exchange of advances in biomaterials and in vitro cell culture models, which are essential for many purposes including tissue engineering, drug development and regenerative medicine. The event was intellectually stimulating, with a diverse range of topics presented across the sessions. It also offered opportunities for networking and professional development, further enriching the overall experience. Presenting my work at the poster session facilitated connections with many different researchers from across the UK and abroad, from whom I received insightful feedback and ideas for my current and future research.
