Welcoming the new Chair of ADM3
Animesh Anand MIMMM was elected Chair of the Ably Different in Materials, Minerals & Mining (ADM3) Group.
We’re pleased to share that Animesh Anand MIMMM has been appointed Chair of the Ably Different in Materials, Minerals & Mining Group after a voting process.
Animesh has been involved with the Group since its inception. This is a voluntary group with the goal to work towards achieving equality of opportunity professionally for IOM3 members identifying as disabled and allies such as family members, carers and work colleagues.
With a background in Education, having worked across the HE and FE sectors since graduating, Animesh has been consistently involved in Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), drawing on knowledge and lived experience as an Autistic person to support the interests of students and colleagues. From serving as an elected representative for disabled students at university to recent years on the ADM3 Committee contributing articles and direction, Animesh has long fought for representation and understanding.
Currently, in his professional role, he leads on ideas and discussions to support the development of staff and students in terms of Inclusivity, and is able to bring that leadership to this role.
Animesh says, 'I want to utilise my past experiences in the committee as a base and move forward by supporting members across all career stages, gaining new members to help with our vision and direction, and working to provide resources and information and creating a welcoming, open space where people can flourish and thrive within, and outside the IOM3, while maintaining an inclusive, and intersectional environment.
'I am keen to ensure that our committee reflects the needs and voices of our members. If you have ideas, feedback, or would like to learn more about how to get involved with ADM3, please do not hesitate to reach out. I look forward to working together to shape a more inclusive future for our community.'
Please join us in congratulating and welcoming Animesh.
