The V&A in South Kensington considers how design and construction can be shaped by local, climate-resilient, mixed-species forest.

The free display from architecture practice dRMM and its partners in manufacturing and science consider how wood from UK forests could transform local production.

dRMM: Building from Forests follows a three-year research project by the New Model Institute for Technology and Engineering (NMITE), Edinburgh Napier University, Built Environment – Smarter Transformation (BE-ST) and EcoSystems Technologies, commissioned by the Forestry Commission England.

The display forms part of the fifth iteration of Make Good: Rethinking Material Futures. It is free to visit until 30 October 2026.
