This follows the conclusion of the early works programmes during 2025, with first production said to be on target for 2027.

This includes:

  • Grupo Nov, the Angolan civil and earthworks company, completing site preparation and also commencing construction of the tailings storage facility, which is reported to be in accordance with the Global Industry Standards on Tailings Management.
  • Construction has begun on the 250t per day modular sulphuric acid plant.
  • Regional government recognition and awards have been received for the company’s positive economic and social impact, including community outreach programmes guided by IFC and Equator Principles risk management compliance.

  • Permanent power, potable water, wastewater treatment, telecommunications and site security infrastructure were installed and commissioned in 2025.

Pensana say that as the onsite workforce increases towards the peak of 750, the company is actively encouraging integration with the surrounding community through the use of local accommodation, services and established transport links to nearby towns.
