Have your say: Contribute to a project on wind circularity

We’re inviting members to take part in a new project on circularity in the wind sector.

IOM3 members are invited to contribute to a new project on materials innovation for wind circularity. This is an opportunity to share insights, highlight challenges and shape the transition to a more circular wind sector.

The project will look at all wind turbine components – blades, towers, nacelle, foundations and cables – with a focus on:

  • Volumes of materials needed to manufacture components in the UK
  • Materials that can be retrieved from decommissioned turbines
  • Innovations that extend component lifecycles
  • Challenges and opportunities to increase circularity

We are also exploring the wider factors that support innovation, including:

  • Skills needed to deliver circularity in the UK
  • Policy changes to enable progress
  • The role of digital infrastructure, logistics and standards

If you have insights to share or experience in this area, we’d love to hear from you. Please contact Policy Research Fellow, Aoife Burke at aoife.burke@iom3.org.

You don’t need direct policy experience, our team will support and guide you. What matters most is your expertise and perspective. If you’d like more background on how members can get involved in shaping IOM3 policy activity, take a look at our policy explainer, which sets out practical ways to contribute and make your expertise count.
