Future Materials, Minerals & Mining conference 2025 held in Birmingham
On 10 November, the IOM3 Student & Early Career Group held its biennial conference at Millennium Point, Birmingham.
The IOM3 Student and Early Career Group (SEC Group) held its biennial Future Materials, Minerals and Mining (FM3) Conference on Monday, 10 November, at Millennium Point, Birmingham.
The free conference was a vibrant and essential forum, successfully gathering early career scientists and engineers from across the UK to present cutting-edge research and participate in crucial professional development sessions. The energy in the sessions was palpable, fostering strong new connections and collaborations among attendees from industry and academia.
The day achieved its core aim of supporting the next generation's growth, featuring a rich program that went beyond technical presentations.
Attendees sharpened their technical and soft skills through engaging presentations on materials, minerals, and mining and learned essential conference etiquette. The conference also featured dedicated sessions on career progression and development, offering practical advice for navigating the early stages of a professional path.
The programme was rounded out by compelling Keynote presentations and the unique Neo-gemstones® Art Lecture, adding diverse perspectives to the day.
