EC launches consultation and call for evidence for Circular Economy Act
The Act is intended for adoption in 2026.
It aims to establish a single market for secondary raw materials, increase the supply of high-quality recycled materials and stimulate demand for these materials in the EU.
This consultation will also allow the Circular Economy Act to align with key EU initiatives, such as the Competitiveness Compass, the Single Market Strategy, the Steel and Metals Action Plan and the implementation of relevant recently adopted legislations, such as the Eco-Design for Sustainable Products Regulation, the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation and the Critical Raw Materials Act.
The feedback period is open until 6 November 2025. The Commission wants to better understand the bottlenecks and opportunities for wider deployment of a circular economy. Submit responses at this portal.
