Call for Papers: Additive manufacturing of ceramics and composites

Advances in Applied Ceramics announces a call for a Special Issue that highlights the journal's expanded scope and covers state-of-the-art research topics across the globe.

Special Issue title: Additive Manufacturing of Ceramics and Composites - Recent Trends and Applications

This special issue of Advances in Applied Ceramics will cover a broad range of topics dealing with the Additive Manufacturing (AM) of ceramics and composite materials via extrusion, direct ink writing (DIW), fused filament fabrication (FFF), digital light processing (DLP), Stereolithography (SLA), Binder Jetting (BJ) etc. The developments on feedstock optimisation, effect of printing parameters, design for AM, Design of Experiments (DoEs), realisation of complex ceramic architectures hitherto unexplored and AM process modelling/simulation will be considered. Use of Ceramic AM for a wide range of application sectors including aerospace, automotive, energy, electronics, space, communications, defence and nuclear will be covered under the scope of this special issue. 

Original research articles, short communications of important results, insightful review articles will be considered for this. If the author(s) are in doubt about the suitability of their article for this special issue, they can approach one of the Editors for clarification.

  • Submission Deadline: 30th August 2026
  • Targeted Publication Date: Early 2027
  • How to Submit: Manuscripts should be prepared in accordance with Advances in Applied Ceramicsauthor guidelines and submitted via the journal's online submission system.
