Foundation Industries Sustainability Consortium announces two IOM3 members as Co-Directors
Lucy Smith MIMMM and Sarah Harrold CEng FIMMM were welcomed to FISC.
We're thrilled to celebrate two of our members who are making waves in sustainable innovation. Dr Lucy Smith MIMMM and Dr Sarah Harrold CEng FIMMM have stepped up to lead the Foundation Industries Sustainable Collaboration (FISC) as Co-Directors, bringing their impressive track records and shared vision for transforming the UK's Foundation Industries.
Lucy brings entrepreneurial energy and deep expertise in materials sustainability. Through her work at the Materials Processing Institute, she's championed everything from battery recycling to circular economy initiatives, always with an eye on commercial viability and real-world impact. Her strategic thinking has been crucial in turning innovative ideas into market-ready solutions.
Sarah was leading Innovate UK's massive £250m Transforming Foundation Industries Challenge, and she now heads up strategy at Glass Futures. Her ability to build networks and secure the funding that makes transformation possible, and her work in championing diversity through initiatives like Future Leaders Group, show her commitment goes beyond just business outcomes.
Together, they're perfectly positioned to accelerate FISC's mission of driving sustainability and innovation across the Foundation Industries.
It's exciting to see our members leading such important work in sustainable manufacturing and industrial innovation. Congratulations!
