Abstract: The aerospace sector demands high performance, lightweight materials for primary aircraft structures, structural systems, and aircraft interiors. This lecture covers three main areas of interest, fire resistant structural composites (including battery enclosures), ceramic matrix composites in landing gear brakes, and composite applications in jet aviation engines.
