The Journey to 100% Sustainable Aviation Fuel by Alastair Hobday, Associate Fellow Fuels and Lubricants, Rolls Royce Sustainable Aviation Fuels represent a critical element of aviation industry efforts to reduce its environmental impact, and their use in commercial operations is starting to grow. This talk will review feedstocks and technologies used in sustainable fuel pathway production (including emerging routes), industry qualification protocols and examples of ground/flight test campaigns conducted by Rolls-Royce in order to demonstrate the capability of our products on these fuels. The presentation will also cover the ongoing journey towards the use of 100% sustainable fuels, and the opportunities and challenges this brings for the industry. Students who attend in person can get free IOM3 membership, sponsored by EMMS.
