Elastomers & the Challenge of Net-Zero
Monday 22nd June 2026
The Cotton Theatre, Manchester Conference Centre & Pendulum Hotel, Sackville Street M1 3BB
Manchester Polymer Group, in conjunction with the IOM3 Elastomer Group, are pleased to announce this Call for Papers for their 2026 Joint Seminar focussing on the role elastomers will play as the world pushes for further transitions to Net-Zero. Often seen as part of the sustainability problem through reliance on carbon black and the contribution of tyre wear particles to environmental pollution - this seminar will instead consider the unique role these materials have in finding solutions to sustainability challenges.
We are inviting submissions from both industry and academia for a technical seminar focused on the pivotal role of elastomers in achieving global sustainability goals. This event aims to showcase how through innovation, circularity, and efficiency elastomer technology can accelerate the journey to a Net-Zero future. Topics could cover, but are not restricted to, Regulatory adaptations, Manufacturing efficiency, Technological innovation, Sustainable design and the Relationship between elastomers and the circular economy.
The highly successful format of previous MPG Seminars will be followed, with a cost effective all-day event running between 10.00am and 4.30pm based on a mixture of papers, Table Top displays and networking opportunities. Sponsorship opportunities are also invited to support our commitment to the sector and to maintain charges as low as possible and to attract our future technicians.
This conference represents excellent value for money with the subject matter covered and opportunities to network with multi-nationals and SMEs in a stimulating environment.
To submit a Paper, please contact MPG Vice-Chair Dr Gary Ogden with a short abstract and presenter details by Tuesday 21st April 2026.
Gary would also like to hear from any Sponsors willing to support this seminar.
