The Use of Hydrogen in Industry

One-day course exploring the potential power of hydrogen for decarbonising industrial manufacturing activities.

The next course will take place virtually on TBC

We are delighted to be running a one-day course on the power of hydrogen in industry, in partnership with Dr Michelle Lynch FRSC from EnabledFuture.

Heavy industrial activities are a major contributor to global carbon emissions. But achieving net-zero doesn't have to stall your production. This course will explore the potential of hydrogen as a clean raw material and energy source for decarbonising industrial manufacturing activities (outside of chemicals and fuels production).

This course is relevant to anyone with an interest in creating a sustainable future for engineering and manufacturing, and will cover:

  • Different colours of hydrogen and their environmental impact
  • Regulatory landscape, including government policies and incentives supporting hydrogen for decarbonisation
  • Applications of hydrogen in Heavy Industry (ceramic processing, glass manufacturing, production of metals and alloys, welding operations, semiconductor fabrication and as a fuel utility for other high-energy demand processes)
  • Supply chain and start-ups with innovative industrial hydrogen techniques
  • Case studies and real-world examples of companies successfully implementing hydrogen solutions
  • Challenges and opportunities for widespread hydrogen adoption in industry
