 Abstract \n
Meeting the immediate load demand from AI and data centers and electrifying everything (e.g., converting the 2/3 non-electrical energy into electricity) require debottlenecking and capacity expansion in the PowerGrid. The conductors in our PowerGrid are the most critical element for Grid Capacity and Efficiency, yet our industry is still overwhelmingly dependent on century old traditional conductor technology with limiting capacity and relatively poor efficiency. \n
This lecture will introduce Conductor Technology, including the evolution in conductor technology over the past century, the pros and cons of each major conductor type and the technical rational of its development. Emphasis will be on the state of start in the important area, value propositions of next generation advanced conductors, and pertinent case studies. \n
 \n
Dr. Jason Huang is the co-founder and CEO of TS Conductor, a U.S. manufacturer of advanced conductors that help utilities double or triple grid capacity cost-effectively. The company’s patented technology addresses urgent infrastructure needs driven by AI data centers and domestic manufacturing growth.\n
Under Jason’s leadership, TS Conductor has earned support from major utility investors like NextEra, National Grid, Edison International, and Quanta Services, and recognition from the Department of Energy, Bloomberg NEF, and S&P Global Platts. With thousands of miles deployed and validated by third-party testing, the technology has proven reliable and bankable.\n
Before founding TS Conductor in 2018, Jason held senior roles at BAE Systems, Owens Corning, and Solvay, and contributed to defence projects including the F22 and F35. He holds a PhD and MBA from The Ohio State University and an MS from UCLA in Materials Science.
