SUMMARY:East Midlands Heat IOM3 Younger Members Lecture Competition
DESCRIPTION:Competitors are required to give a lecture of 12-15 minutes on a topic related to materials, minerals, mining, packaging, clay technology or wood science and engineering. Competitors to be 28 or under on 1 June 2026 Applications can be made by completing the online entry at https://www.iom3.org/events-awards/competitions/yplc/yplc-local-heats.html. Entry requires an abstract to be submitted as well as the completed form. Judging criteria are also available on the same website. DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES - END OF WEDNESDAY 11th FEBRUARY 2026 Entries will be limited to five. If the heat is over-subscribed then a down selection will take place, which may involve competitors submitting a five-minute video that gives a summary of their lecture. Cash prizes: &pound;50 for runner ups and &pound;100 for winning in the local heat. &pound;150 for winning in regional final (date to be announced in March). The regional final winners will take part in the national competition held on Thursday 21 May 2026 at The Armourers&rsquo; Hall in London. &pound;750 for 1st place, &pound;400 for 2nd place and &pound;200 for 3rd place.
