DESCRIPTION:Direct reduction of iron oxide pellets is one of the technologies that can help steelmakers reduce their carbon footprint.  In his talk, Pasaquale Cavaliere, Professor of Metallurgy at the University of Salento in Italy, will examine the kinetics of the direct reduction process in hydrogen, carbon monoxide and mixed gases, examining iron oxide industrial pellets with different physical and chemical properties.<br />
